Can I stay with the dog while it’s being groomed?

This is not usually a good idea as to get full cooperation

of the dog we must have its undivided attention.

Most dogs behave much better without their owner(s)

present.  

 

Can I come and take a look in the salon before my dog’s appointment?

Customers can come and have a look in the salon at any time during opening hours, as long as this doesn’t cause any distraction to the dog being groomed at that moment.

 

Why is it important that my dog is fully up to date with it’s shots?

This is a quality control that serves both  your dog and our dogs (we have 7 pooches). This way you know that all the clients that come to Fluffy Paws Exclusive are dogs that are vaccinated and we have the same peace of mind regarding the safety of our dogs.  Remember that after your dog has  had it’s shot, you have to wait 14 days before you can bring him to an appointment. If your dog gets sick after his shot, the signs will usually show within 14 days. It’s also important to de-worm your dog from time to time. Your vet can guide you with this.

 

Why is a “shave down” sometimes more expensive than a regular haircut?

The severely matted dog has very thick hair, is excessively dirty or has other conditions which make shaving not only more difficult than a normal haircut, but usually necessary. Stripping, especially a dirty matted coat, also subjects our clippers and blades to wear and tear which can be costly to maintain or replace. In addition, great care and extra time is required in an effort to shave the coat properly.
